The American University men's basketball team will look to end a
two-game slide on Saturday, February 13, when it faces Colgate in
Hamilton, N.Y. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. American won the
first meeting between the two teams this season, 73-63, and owns an
11-game winning streak against the Raiders. The Eagles are 18-3
all-time against Colgate and 17-3 since joining the Patriot
American fell to Bucknell on Thursday, 73-59, marking the team's second straight loss. The Bison held the Eagles to 35.3 percent shooting for the game while connecting on 42.3 percent of its attempts. The Bison also hit on 26-of-32 attempts from the line and held a 17-2 advantage in points off turnovers.
Despite the loss, junior Nick Hendra led all scorers with a career-high 19 points. Hendra was 6-of-9 from the field, 5-of-7 from three and added five rebounds and four assists. Freshman Daniel Munoz also recorded a career-high with 15 points, shooting 7-of-8 from the line to go along with two assists. Sophomore Stephen Lumpkins also reached double-digits with 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting and grabbed a game-high eight rebounds.
The Eagles are led by junior Vlad Moldoveanu who has averaged 19.3 ppg and 6.2 rpg this season. Lumpkins has added 11.5 ppg and a team-best 7.8 rpg while Hendra has notched 10.0 ppg and 5.6 rpg.
