The American University men's basketball team will host Howard University on Tuesday, December 1, inside of Bender Arena live on RCN Cable. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. American and Howard have met 14 times in their all-time series with the Eagles holding an 11-3 advantage. Last season, American edged out the Bison 65-63 inside of Howard's Burr Gynmasium.

American is led both offensively and defensively by sophomore forward Stephen Lumpkins. Lumpkins is averaging 14.1 ppg, 8.4 rpg and has a team-best 11 blocked shots. Sophomore Riley Grafft has chipped in 9.6 ppg and 5.9 rpg while freshman Mike Bersch has added 8.0 ppg and a team-high 12 three-pointers off the bench.

The Eagles fell to the Unversity of Maryland Eastern Shore on Saturday, 65-58, to fall to 0-7 on the year. American trailed by as many as 12 points in the second half before a 12-2 run turned a seven point deficit into a three point lead for the Eagles, 48-45. UMES, however, quickly regained the lead at 49-48 and held on down the stretch for the victory. Lumpkins scored 15 points with a game-high nine rebounds while Nick Hendra notched 11 points and Simon McCormack added 10 points and six boards.

Tuesday's game against Howard will be the first of three games this season broadcast live on RCN TV. RCN will also broadcast the Eagles' December 19 game against UMBC and their January 30th game at Lafayette. The games will air exclusively on RCN TV Channel 8 (Philadelphia, New York City and Washington, D.C.), Channel 34 (Boston and Chicago) and Channel 4 (Lehigh Valley, PA).
