WASHINGTON - American University incoming
freshman Blake Jolivette was featured among the future stars of
college basketball at the 36th annual Capital Classic on Thursday
at Bender Arena. Jolivette was named to the U.S. All-Star team that
took on high school stars from the Washington, D.C. metro area.
Jolivette logged six minutes of action for the national team,
which fell to the local Capital All-Stars, 129-98. "It was good to
come home, in a sense, and play my game," Jolivette said after
playing in Bender for the first time.
The Capital Classic, a D.C. tradition, features a team of top
area players against a team of national recruits in a contest at AU
each spring. In the recent NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament,
Capital Classic alumni starred for three of the Final Four teams.
