WASHINGTON - Seven members of the 1982 men's basketball team were greeted by more than 60 fellow alumni, family and friends on December 29 to celebrate one of the greatest wins in AU history.

AU Athletics recognized the team and its supporters during a brunch reception at Clyde's restaurant in downtown. Many stood by watching the 1982 game again as it played on TV during the event, while others visited with teammates and friends.

Following the reception, alumni and friends headed over to the Verizon Center where the current team faced off in a highly anticipated match-up against local foe Georgetown for the first time since that last meeting 25 years ago.

Members of the 1982 team who were at the reception include: Gordon Austin, Jim Lutz, Fernando Aunon, Steve Nesmith, Mark Nickens, Assistant Coach Chris Knoche and Play-by-Play Announcer Bob Snyder.
