AU Cross Country Teams to Compete at Lafayette Invite on Saturday

WASHINGTON - The American University men's and women's cross country teams are heading to Lafayette this Saturday, Oct. 18, to compete in the Lafayette Invitational. Both teams are looking to improve on their early season performances as they gear up for the Patriot League Championships, being held this year on Nov. 1 at Lehigh.
For the first time this season, the men's team will send out its top five runners in senior captain Carlos Jamieson, sophomores Jeff Brannigan, Nick Ryan, and Conor Sullivan, and freshman Josh Olsen. Several other members of the team will also be competing for the final spots on the team at the PL Championships.
The women's side will also feature all of its top runners in preparation for the next two weeks. Leading the way will be the duo of junior captain Greta Wicklund and freshman standout Octavia Rinehardt. They will be joined on the starting line by junior Rachel Forcino, sophomore Haleigh Duggan, and freshmen Lauren Scholl, Caitlin Prichard, and Tara Jakubik.
The race is being held on Lafayette's Metzgar Fields in Easton, Pa. The men's race is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. with the women's race following at 11 a.m.
