Cross Country Places 22 on Patriot League Academic Honor Roll

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The American University men's and women's cross country program placed 22 Eagles on the Patriot League Fall Academic Honor Roll, the league office released Wednesday.

To be eligible for the Fall Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.20 GPA in the fall semester and participated in one of the Patriot League's fall championship sports.

Included among the 11 AU men recognized on the release was junior Matthew Rainey, who was selected to the Academic All-Patriot League Team after he finished 10th overall in the PL Cross Country Championship.

Of the 11 members of the women's team who were recognized were three who finished the fall semester with over a 3.90 GPA – junior Adriana Hooks, sophomore Emily Houghton and sophomore Kaitlyn McTernan.

Leading the way as a four-time honoree was senior Liam Purdy while senior Jim Belfatto, senior Samuel Doud, senior Jude Mabone, and juniors Matthew Rainey, Tommy Sommer, Kassidy Ayres and Sammie Paul all made the list for the third time.

Senior Brianna Belo, junior Adriana Hooks, and sophomores Caleb Brown, Gerard D'Ambrosio III, Katelyn Deibler, Arianna Lopez and Kaitlyn McTernan were all two-time honorees.

Five Eagles made their Academic Honor Roll debut with senior Alaeldin Tirba, junior Lucia Rose, sophomore Faolan Coogan Pluck, sophomore Justin Dignan, sophomore Emily Houghton, and freshmen Shelbi Wuss and John Pagliaro.
