WASHINGTON - The American University men's and women's track teams will be traveling to the campus of Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa., to compete in the 2008 Bison Outoor Classic this Friday and Saturday, April 11-12. The Eagles are focusing strongly on the 1500 meter run at this meet, entering the men's team's top four runners in the event.
The men will be led by their four most experienced runners, seniors Brendan Fennell, Steve Hallinan, and Brian McCabe and junior Carlos Jamieson. Jamieson has already qualified for the NCAA East Regional in the 1500 and will be looking to improve on his time of 3:47.39 which he ran at Navy three weeks ago. The trio of seniors will look to reach the NCAA East Regional qualifying standard with this race. On Saturday, Hallinan and McCabe will return to action in the 800 meter run.
The women are led by seniors Cathleen Ford and Kate Lilley who currently hold the two top 1500 times in the PL this season, respectively. Ford will not be competing in the 1500 this weekend though and will instead run in the women's 5000 meter while Lilley will be the only Eagles woman to take to the track in the 1500.
