WASHINGTON - American University men's track and field team members Brendan Fennell, Steve Hallinan and Carlos Jamieson competed at the Oregon Twilight Meet Friday on the campus of Oregon University looking to improve on their season best performances in the 1500 meter run before the NCAA East Regional Meet.

Jamieson led the trio with a sixth-place finish in a time of 3:41.84, one week after setting a Patriot League Championships Meet record and PR of 3:43.24 in the event. Jamieson's new personal best time remains as the third fastest time in school history.

Fennell and Hallinan finished 11th and 12th, respectively, in times of 3:43.26 and 3:44.10. Both times represent new PR's for the seniors who own fourth and fifth place on AU's all-time top 10.

Fennell, Hallinan and Jamieson will continue their season's in three weeks at the NCAA East Regional Meet, May 30-31, in Tallahassee, Fla. Fennell and Jamieson have meet the regional standard time in both the 1500 and 5000 meter runs. Hallinan has qualified for the meet in the 1500.

Senior Brian McCabe will attempt to qualify for the NCAA East Regional on Monday in the 1500 meter run when he takes the track Monday in Swathmore, Pa., at the Swarthmore College Last Chance Meet. McCabe's season best time in the event currently stands at 3:49.31. He will need to run better than a 3:47.80 at the Last Chance meet to meet the regional standard.
