WASHINGTON – The American University track & field team closed its 2018 indoor slate on Sunday with a trip to nearby George Mason for the Last Chance Meet.
Sophomore Emily Houghton highlighted the day's events as one of AU's six personal record (PR) performers, earning a new all-time top ten in the 400-meter dash. Her 1:02.26 crossing for fifth in the field is the seventh-fastest in program history. Classmate Lucia Rose also earned a new PR in the event, placing 10th in 1:04.82.
Houghton also earned a new career-best in the 200m dash, timing through in 28.77 for 10th.
Sophomore Katelyn Deibler rounded out the women's record performances after she placed fourth in the 3000m run in 10:51.23.
On the men's side, sophomore Gerard D'Ambrosio III finished the mile in PR fashion, crossing in eighth with a final time of 4:23.81. Freshman Michael Weidenbruch closed the day in the men's 3000m run, hitting a new career-record of 8:56.14 for sixth in the field.
