ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The culmination of both a two-month set of indoor meets and a two-month stint of training sessions in cold weather comes this weekend when American University competes in the Patriot League Indoor Track and Field Championships at Navy.

The outdoor training has turned into some solid performances indoors so far this winter for the Eagles. AU will enter some quality student-athletes in middle distance and distance events this weekend.
For the men, sophomore Brendan Johnson will lead the Eagles in the 3,000-meter run on Saturday and has posted a pair of victories in the event this season. Josh Ellis and Samuel Doud are also expected to compete in the men's 3,000.

Senior Tom Woermer is entered in the 5,000, coming off his victory two weeks ago at the Townsend Invitational at UMES.

For the women, junior transfer Kinnari Badger is scheduled to run in the 60 and 200. Since coming to AU from Western Carolina University, she has posted the school record (26.44) in the 200.

American is also expected to field full relay squads in the 4x800 and distance medley relay events.

Action in the PL Indoor begins Friday with the combined-event competition, while running prelims begin on Saturday. All finals will be contested on Sunday.
