Track Places 18 on Patriot League Academic Honor Roll

The American University men's and women's track teams combined for a total of 18 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selections, conference officials announced. The men's team had 10 student-athletes named to the Academic Honor Roll with the women's team placing eight.

The men's team was led by 2014 Patriot League Outdoor Track Scholar-Athlete of the Year John Pope (3.89, International Communication). Pope closes out his career being named to the track Academic Honor Roll in each eligible semester, also earning four consecutive honors in cross country. Constantine Matsakis (3.66, Political Science) was also recognized on the track Patriot League Academic Honor Roll for four consecutive years, earning six honors overall.

Indoor and Outdoor Track Academic All-Patriot League selection Julia Sullivan (3.97, International Studies and Environmental Studies) led the women's team with her eighth overall selection and fourth consecutive track honor. Ali Tyburski (3.50, Public Communication) was also recognized on the list for the third time during the track season and sixth overall.

Bucknell led the Patriot League with 86 combined selections. Lehigh was second with 68 honorees followed by Boston U. (56), Army (51), Lafayette (48), Navy (43), Holy Cross (42), Colgate (30), Loyola (24), and American (18).

To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the fall semester and be awarded a varsity letter in one of the Patriot League's championship sports.
