Women’s 4x800 Relay to Compete at ECAC Championships

The American University women's outdoor track 4x800 meter relay team will head to the ECAC Outdoor Championships on Sunday, May 18 in Princeton, N.J.

The team of Kelseagh Budris, Corina Velazco, Ali Tyburski and Julia Sullivan set three top 10 program records during the outdoor season. The squad broke a nine-year-old program record in the 4x800 at the Patriot League Outdoor Championships on May 2, eclipsing the mark by nearly five seconds. They posted a time of 9:00.41 to place third overall.

The relay also owns the fifth-fastest mark in the event after placing 14th at the Penn Relays, qualifying for ECACs with a time of 9:12.69. Budris, Velazco, Tyburski and Sullivan registered the second-fastest mark at American in the 4x1500 meter relay earlier this year after finishing third in 19:00.17 at the Colonial Relays.

The relay will compete on Sunday at 2:40 p.m.
