Track Posts Four Top 10 Program Records at Swarthmore Last Chance Meet


The American University women's outdoor track team set four top 10 program records at the Swarthmore Last Chance Meet on Monday night in Swarthmore, Pa.

Krystal Foster posted the best finish of the day for the Eagles in the 5,000 meter run, placing ninth overall. Her time of 17:37.80 was also the eighth best time at American in the event. Ali Tyburski and Kelseagh Budris recorded the fourth and fifth best times at American in the 800 meter run. The pair finished 12th and 13th, respectively, with times of 2:13.98 and 2:14.44. Corina Velazco also posted a top 10 result in the 800 and placed 17th overall with a time of 2:18.21, the seventh fastest mark in program history. Julia Sullivan competed in the 1,500 meter run on Monday night, placing 34th with a final mark of 4:46.47.

Nick Regan led a trio of competitors from the men's team in the 1,500 meter run. Regan finished in 35th in 3:57.38 and was followed by Peter Rowe (40th – 3:58.67) and Tom Woermer (46th – 4:00.39).

American's 4x800 meter relay team of Budris, Sullivan, Tyburski and Velazco will close out the season for the Eagles at the ECAC Outdoor Championships on May 17 and 18 in Princeton, N.J.
