Track Set to Compete at Swarthmore Last Chance Meet

Nine members of the American University men's and women's outdoor track teams will travel to Swarthmore, Pa. on Monday, May 12 for the Swarthmore Last Chance Meet.

Three top 10 finishers from the 2014 Patriot League Championships will lead the men's team at the event. Brendan Johnson and Nick Regan placed sixth and ninth, respectively, in the 5,000 meter run and Tom Woermer finished eighth overall in the 10,000 meter run. Peter Rowe will join the Eagles at the Last Chance Meet. He last competed at the Morgan State Legacy Meet, finishing fourth in the 1,500 meter run.

American will send five representatives from the women's team to Swarthmore, including the four members of the 4x800 meter relay team that set a new program record in the event with an ECAC mark at the Patriot League Championships. Kelseagh Budris, Julia Sullivan, Ali Tyburski and Corina Velazco will compete on Monday along with Krystal Foster, who finished eighth in the 10,000 meter run last Saturday at the conference championships.

Budris, Foster and Sullivan posted top marks for the Eagles at last year's Last Chance Meet. Budris placed 22nd in the 800 meter run while Sullivan and Foster finished 15th and 23rd, respectively, in the 1,500.

Running events at the Swarthmore Last Chance Meet will begin at 5 p.m.
