Joshua Ellis finished fourth in the men's 3000 meter steeplechase to lead the American University men's and women's track teams on the final day of the 2014 Patriot League Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Annapolis, Md. on Saturday.
Ellis' mark of 9:09.65 was an IC4A qualifying time in the event and is the second-fastest time in program history in the event. In the 5,000 meter run, Brendan Johnson finished sixth and Nick Regan placed ninth with times of 14:48.12 and 15:04.15, respectively.
Kelseagh Budris and Julia Sullivan both placed ninth in their respected events to lead the women's team. Budris ran a personal-best 2:15.16 in the 800 meter. Sullivan also registered a personal-best mark in the 1,500 meter run, finishing in 4:38.92.
Navy captured the men's title with 239 overall points and the Eagles finished eighth in the team standings. Boston won the women's title with 203.50 points while American placed ninth overall.
