The American University men's and women's outdoor track teams will travel to Annapolis, Md. for the 2014 Patriot League Championships on Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3.
Five members of the American University track team competed at the 120th Penn Relays last weekend with the women's 4x800 relay team of Kelseagh Budris, Corina Velazco, Ali Tyburski and Julia Sullivan setting the fourth-fastest time in program history and an ECAC qualifying mark.
Krystal Foster registered her first victory of the outdoor season in the 5,000 meter run at the Morgan State Legacy Meet on April 19 and placed third in the event at the Navy Spring Invitational.
For the men's squad, Brendan Johnson set a personal-best time and finished in 21st in the 5,000 meter championship race at the Penn Relays last Thursday. He also won the the 5,000 at the Morgan State Legacy Meet in Baltimore and earned a fifth place finish in the 3,000 at the Maryland Invitational earlier this season.
Nick Regan enters Patriot League Championship with a 1,500 meter title from the Navy Spring Invitational and a second place finish at the Maryland Invitational in the 5,000.
At last year's Patriot League Championships, the women's 4x800 meter relay team of Sullivan, Budris, Tyburski and Anike Oladeji posted an ECAC qualifying time and scored points for the Eagles, coming in sixth in the event. John Pope registered an IC4A qualifying time with his fifth place finish in the 10,000 meter run.
The championship will take place at the Naval Academy with running events beginning on Friday, May 2 at 9:45 a.m. and continuing on Saturday, May 3 starting at 9 a.m.
