Pope becomes the first Patriot League male student-athlete to be a three-time indoor track Academic All-League Team honoree and has made all eight Academic All-Patriot League Teams for which he has been eligible. The Carlisle, Pa. native completed his undergraduate career in three years and owns a 3.84 cumulative GPA as an International Communication Master's student. He placed 15th in the 5,000 meter run at the 2014 Patriot League Indoor Championships and posted an IC4A time and the ninth-best mark at American in the 5,000 at the New Balance Invitational. The senior also recorded a pair of runner-up finishes in the 3,000 meter run at the Terrapin Invitational and 5,000 meter run at the Navy Invitational earlier this year.
Pope is a 2012 USTFCCCA Cross Country All-Academic Team honoree, 2013 CoSIDA First Team Academic All-District selection and has been recognized on the Patriot League Academic Roll seven times in his career, also being named to the University's Dean's List. He also received the 2011-12 Patriot League Male Sportsmanship Award.
Sullivan receives her fifth career Academic All-Patriot League Team selection and owns a 3.81 cumulative GPA as an international studies and environmental studies double-major. The Northampton, Mass. native posted three top-10 finishes at the Patriot League Championships, posting an ECAC mark in the 3,000 meter run. She also recorded the third fastest time at American in the 3,000 at the New Balance Invitational and registered an ECAC time and the third fastest time in program history in the mile at the Terrier Invitational, also earning Patriot League Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honors for the performance.
Academically, she has been named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll seven times in her career and is also a Dean's List honoree.
American will open its outdoor season on March 14 and 15 at the Coastal Carolina Invitational.
