Indoor Track Concludes Competition at Patriot League Championships

Constantine Matsakis and Julia Sullivan led the American University indoor track teams with top 10 results on the final day of the 2014 Patriot League Indoor Championships on Sunday at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa.

Sullivan was the top finisher of the day for the Eagles, placing fourth in the 3,000 meter race with an ECAC qualifying time of 9:56.51. The mark was her third qualifying time of the season. She also posted a top time in the mile, finishing sixth in 5:04.99. 

Matsakis had the best finish for the men's team. He recorded a time of 4:16.78 to finish eighth in the mile.

Navy took home the team title on the men's side with 201.83 points and were followed by Bucknell (173), Army (135.33), Boston U. (109), Lehigh (105.50), Holy Cross (25.33), Lafayette (21), Colgate (7) and American (1). 

Boston U. (210) won the title on the women's side with 210 points followed by Lehigh (130), Bucknell (99.50), Navy (99), Holy Cross (92), Army (54.50), Lafayette (53), Colgate (19), Loyola (Md.) (13) and American (10).

The Eagles open the outdoor season on March 14 and 15 at the Coastal Carolina Invitational in Conway, S.C.
