Track and Field Competes at Swarthmore Last Chance Meet

Three members of the American University men's track and field team posted personal bests as the team competed at the Swarthmore Last Chance Meet on Monday.

Mark Leininger had the best finish of the day for the Eagles, with his 21st place finish in the 5,000 meter run in a time of 14:52.88. Anthony Rowe registered the first personal record of the day for American with a time of 1:54.28 in the 800 meter run.

John Pope and Constantine Matsakis both tallied personal bests in the 1,500 meter run, posting times of 3:54.74 and 3:55.57, respectively. Pope and Matsakis both shaved nearly four seconds off their personal records, which they set earlier this season.
