32 Eagles Named to Patriot League Academic Honor Roll

The American University men’s and women’s track and field teams placed 32 student-athletes on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, the conference announced Thursday.

Senior Colin Eustis ’11 (3.500, business administration) capped his career with his fourth consecutive Honor Roll selection. Eustis was named the team MVP for both cross-country and indoor track and in November was recognized as the Patriot League cross-country Scholar Athlete of the Year.

Juniors Ian Packman (3.620, business administration) and Anthony Rowe (3.483, health promotion & pre-med) both earned their third recognition in as many years.

For the women, senior Mary Jane Egan ’11 (4.000, CLEG & political science) and junior Tara Jakubik (3.480, international studies & philosophy) were both recognized for the third time in their careers. Graduate student Erin Koch ’10, ’11 (4.000, mathematics) earned her first Honor Roll placement for track and field and seventh overall on the heels of being named the Patriot League outdoor track and field Scholar Athlete of the Year.

To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and be awarded a varsity letter in one of the Patriot League’s championship sports.
