Erin Koch competed at the 2011 Penn Relays on Thursday, placing 11th in the 3,000 meter run.
Koch crossed the line in a time of 9:40.89, just over half a second slower than 10th-place finisher Natosha Rogers of Texas A&M. Her time also nearly eclipsed her personal record of 9:40.57 which stands as the second-fastest time in program history.
This was Koch's first appearance at the Penn Relays and the first for a member of American's women's track and field team since Octavia Rinehardt placed 11th in the 3,000 meter run in 2009.
Both the men's and women's track and field teams will now set their sights on the 2011 Patriot League Championships which will be held Friday and Saturday, May 6-7 in Easton, Pa.
