Senior Erin Koch earned her second Patriot League Female Track Athlete of the Week award for outdoor track after finishing 11th at the Penn Relays, conference officials announced Monday.
Koch nearly broke her own personal record in the 3,000 meter run after finishing with a time of 9:40.89. Her current personal record of 9:40.57 is the second-fastest time in program history. The senior also holds the school record in the 1,500 meter run and the indoor mile, as well as second in the 400 meter dash and 800 meter run.
This was Koch’s first appearance at the Penn Relays, and the first by a women’s track and field member since Octavia Rinehardt placed 11th in the 3,000 meter run in 2009.
The men’s and women’s track and field teams will next compete at the 2011 Patriot League Championships on Friday and Saturday, May 6-7 in Easton, Pa.
