Track Teams Set to Compete in Colonial Relays

The American University men's and women's outdoor track and field teams will compete in the Colonial Relays on Friday, April 1 and Saturday, April 2.

The Eagles are coming off a strong showing at the Navy Invitational last weekend as both the men's and women's teams placed third. Conor Sullivan and Jeff Brannigan won the 800 meter and 1,500 meter runs, respectively, while American took each of the top three spots in the 5,000 meter competition. Mark Allen posted an IC4A qualifying time in the victory as Ryan Williams and Mark Leinenger finished right behind.

Erin Koch recorded an ECAC qualifying time for the women's side in her victory in the 800 meter run. Koch's time of 2:10.78 was a new personal best and is the second fastest time in school history. Ali Tyburski, Julia Sullivan and Rachael Wolff each placed in the 1,500 meter run to help the Eagles secure a third place result.

Over 80 collegiate teams and 57 All-Americans are expected to attend this year's Colonial Relays, representing all three NCAA Divisions and 18 conferences. Overall, there are 325 relay teams entered in the 14 relays and 2,335 entries in the individual events. For more information on the meet, click here.
