CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – For the third straight season, American University diver Fiona Caulfield has been selected to the Patriot League Women's Academic All-League Team for swimming and diving, the league announced this week.

Caulfield, a senior diver from Alamo, Calif., carries a 3.98 in psychology at AU. She also was the Eagles' leading individual scorer at the recent PL Swimming and Diving Championships, scoring 24 points.

Caulfield finished fourth in the women's 3-meter diving final at the PL meet, improving 29 points in the evening session from the preliminaries. She placed ninth on the 1-meter board.

Her academic performance was part of an ongoing string of academic accomplishments by the AU Swimming and Diving Team. Based on grades from the Fall 2017 semester, the Eagles were honored as a Scholar All-America Team by the College Swim Coaches Association of America for the 46th consecutive semester.

To be eligible for the Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year award and the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport. Freshmen or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor.

Navy's Zach Piedt and Grace Anderson of Boston University were voted as the men's and women's scholar-athletes of the year. Voting was done by the league's swimming and diving sports information contacts.
