Lewisburg, Pa. – For the second straight season, four Patriot League foes met at the Kinney Natatorium as AU swimming & diving squared off against host Bucknell, Lafayette and Navy. It was the Eagle women who led the way for American as they picked up a team win over Lafayette, 181-116.
The women were topped by Navy, 63-247, and Bucknell, 54-246. The AU men registered scores of 117-176 against Lafayette, 76-217 versus Navy and 52-246 at Bucknell.
Junior Paris Wood took the bronze in the 100 backstroke with a time of 58.76. The time was the fastest for AU in the event this season, besting a mark set by herself in late October against Howard and Mount St. Mary's.
Senior Harrison Volaski matched the performance of Wood, also taking third in the men's 100 back, touching the wall at 52.47. Volaski also swam his fastest race of the season, besting his previous yearly top time for AU in the race.
Sophomore and reigning team MVP Caylee Watson added a fourth-place finish in the 100 butterfly with a time of 58.69.
On the three-meter board, Melissa Parker finished fifth with a score of 237.20.
AU's 200 free relay team added a third-place finish on the men's side as the team of Kilian Korth, Owen Dougherty, Mike Allada and Dylan Hall combined for a time of 1:29.52. The time sets a new 2014-15 high-water mark for AU, besting the previous mark by nearly two seconds.
Next up for American is the three-day George Mason Invitational on Nov. 20-22.
