Eagles to Swim at Bucknell with Lafayette & Navy in Patriot League Quad Meet

WASHINGTON – The American University swimming & diving teams return to the pool after a week off, heading to Lewisburg, Pa., for a Patriot League quad meet against Bucknell, Lafayette and Navy. Action inside the Kinney Natatorium begins at noon.

It is the second consecutive season that each school has traveled to Lewisburg and is the seventh time in the last eight years in which they have faced off against each other.

Last time out, American took on Mount St. Mary's and Howard before facing VMI on back-to-back days at the Reeves Aquatic Center. Senior dive Melissa Parker led the way and was recognized both by AU and the Patriot League on Monday, earning GEICO Student-Athlete of the Week honors as well as the conference's Female Diver of the Week award.

She set a pair of meet records against Howard and Mount St. Mary's with winning dives on both the one and three-meter boards. Parker posted a mark of 264.75 at one-meter and scored a 258.90 at three-meters. Parker is a top 10 all-time record holder in both events at AU.

Two other Eagles were also distinguished by the Patriot League after the meets, earning selections to the Weekly Swimming & Diving Honor Roll.

Senior Harrison Volaski was victorious in six events over a two-day span at the Reeves Aquatic Center, while freshman Shannon Exley posted five winning performances.

Next up for American is the three-day George Mason Invitational on Nov. 20-22.
