WASHINGTON – A group of 10 seniors will be honored Friday as American University celebrates its Senior Day when it plays host to Mount St. Mary's and Howard at the Reeves Aquatic Complex.
Diving events will begin at 4 p.m. on Friday, with the Senior Day ceremonies and swimming events scheduled for 5 p.m.
Eight men and two women will be honored for the Eagles.
Diver Melissa Parker and swimmer Kerri Knippenberg are the women's seniors for AU this season, while the men's team will honor the leadership of Michael Allada, Kevin Bond, diver Kegan Gerard, Dylan Hall, Ross Honig, Ryan Saunders, Charlie Taffet and Harrison Volaski.
American also hits the pool on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. in a dual meet with VMI.
Among the non-seniors to watch for the Eagles this weekend is sophomore Killian Korth, who picked up three top-3 finishes two weeks ago in a quad meet with Catholic, Loyola and George Washington.
For the women, junior Paris Wood had victories two weeks ago in both backstroke events and posted AU's top marks in the sprint freestyles. Shannon Scovel earned an early season victory in the 1,650 free in that meet.
