Former Swimming Student-Athlete Kyle Taylor to Swim the English Channel
Former American University swimmer Kyle Taylor '06 is getting set to embark on a journey of a lifetime. Later this week, the 25-year-old will swim 22 miles across the English Channel, which should take about 10 hours. His motivation is to raise funds for Harvey Parry, a four-year old boy who in need of new legs. Since graduating from AU with dual degrees in International Relations and International Business, Harvey has been studying at the London School of Economics and Political Science. [ + ]
Six Eagles Competing for Regional Women's Soccer Championships
The American University women's soccer team will have six student-athletes participating in the upcoming Region 1 Club Regional Championships from July 2-7 in Barboursville, W.Va. Each of the six AU student-athletes won State Cup titles with their club teams this summer, which advanced their squads to the Regional Championships. [ + ]

The American University Department of Athletics and Recreation hosted its 19th annual Eagles Club Golf Classic on Monday, June 8, at the Bretton Woods Country Club in Germantown, Md. Over 130 AU alums, donors and supporters participated in the golf scramble, helping to make this year's fundraiser a record-setting event that generated over $28,000. [ + ]
Champions of the Classroom
For the second year in a row, the American University wrestling team has attained the highest GPA of all Div. I wrestling programs and has been crowned the National Wrestling Association's Champions of the Classroom. Additionally, senior Andrew Silber and junior Mike Cannon were named to the All-Academic Team. [ + ]
