Sean Foster joined American as the head strength & conditioning coach in August of 2013.
Foster had perviously been with the Georgetown University Athletic Department since 2009 as an assistant strength & conditioning coach. He worked primarily with men's lacrosse, men's soccer, volleyball and men's and women's tennis, while assisting with both men's and women's basketball as well as football. Foster also oversaw the department's college-level internship program.
The Reston, Va., native is no stranger to D.C., returning to American University after stops at Episcopal High School, Gonzaga College High School and St. Stephen's & St. Agnes High School.
Foster received his master's degree in exercise science from American University in 2010, and was a 2008 graduate of The Ohio State University, holding a bachelor's of science in health sciences.
As a member of the CSCCa, NSCA and USA Weightlifting, Foster currently holds the SCCC, CSCS, and USAW Level 1 Sports Performance Coach certifications.
Foster currently resides in Arlington, Va.
