The Phil Bender World Tour returns Saturday, Feb. 2, as the men’s basketball team hosts Lafayette. AU, who is currently tied for fourth place in the conference, will look to separate themselves from the rest of the Patriot League.
Students will enjoy free Robeks Smoothies and Coca-Cola products, and those wearing their Blue Crew t-shirts will also enjoy free Domino’s Pizza courtesy of the AU Alumni Association. As always, students get in for free when showing their valid AU ID
The pregame fanfest begins at 1pm where Blue Crew members and students can have their faces painted for free and enjoy the other free products that will be handed out in the Blue Crew corner next to Section 112. All students can also enter to win that day’s Domino’s Hot Zone seat upgrade for courtside seats behind the AU cheerleaders.
The Eagles feature senior forward Stephen Lumpkins, who is averaging over 15 points per game (fifth in the Patriot League) and nearly 10 rebounds a contest (second in conference), and senior point guard Daniel Munoz, who dishes out nearly four assists a game (fourth in the Patriot League).
Sophomore wing John Schoof is coming off of his best week in an AU uniform as he averaged close to 20 points, six rebounds and three assists per game while shooting 65% from the field and 60% from beyond the arc in two games against Army and Navy. In the Eagles’ 72-49 blowout win over Navy Wednesday, Schoof poured in a career-high 27 points, coming up just one three-pointer short of tying AU’s all-time three-point record.
