WASHINGTON- American University professors are continuing to support student-athletes at their games this season. The Student-Athlete Support Program’s (SASP) latest installment of Very Important Professor (VIP) games featured AU Volleyball against George Washington University.

SASP has been working closely with the AU Athletics marketing department since the beginning of the academic year to give professors and student-athletes the unique opportunity to interact outside of the classroom.

Junior middle blocker Cheyenne Orsi nominated Professor Victor Brito from the department of Justice, Law, and Criminology.

Brito says Orsi is an “Outstanding athlete, better person, and a great student.”

“It’s fantastic to be here,” Brito continued. “I’m honored to be here so thank you for inviting me.”

The team performed well in front of their professors, sweeping GW three sets to none. The team has their next game on the road Friday against Bucknell.
